Community Achievement Award
The District of Coldstream is shaped by the people who live here and especially by the contributions of extraordinary, community minded individuals.
The District of Coldstream Community Achievement Award celebrates individuals who go above and beyond in their dedication and service to others and who devote time and energy to making their communities more caring, dynamic, beautiful, healthy and unique. They inspire by their example.
Who is eligible for this award?
Any current or former long term resident of the District of Coldstream is eligible for nomination. Exceptions are current members of Council and District staff. Posthumous nominations will not be accepted.
Who does this award honour?
This award is to honour people who have made a significant contribution to the community through outstanding service and volunteerism that provides a benefit to the community.
Why should I nominate someone for a District of Coldstream Community Achievement Award?
This award is a way to acknowledge a community member who has contributed significantly to his or her community.
How do I nominate someone for this award?
Complete a nomination form (attached) along with one or more letters from individuals or organizations that describe the value and impact of the nominee’s contributions to his or her community. Nominations will remain confidential between the nominator and the District of Coldstream.
How are the recipients selected?
The District of Coldstream Council will review the nominations and select the recipients. In their evaluation, Council will consider the impact of the individual’s contribution as well as factors such as community impact, commitment and length of service.
What does the award recipient receive?
Formal recognition will be made at a Regular Meeting of Council and recipients will be presented with a certificate and District of Coldstream commemorative pin.
