Request to Appear as a Delegation
Requests to appear as a delegation are to be submitted, in writing, to the Corporate Officer. Requests must be received no later than noon on the Wednesday preceding a meeting. Requests received past the deadline will be considered for the next meeting. You may send your written request by email to kaustin@district.coldstream.bc.ca or you may mail it or drop it off at the Municipal Hall. All requests must be accompanied by background information on the issue you wish to address (detail your concerns and what action, if any, you are asking Council to take).
Once your request has been received, you will be contacted to confirm that your request has been accepted and that you have been placed on the Council agenda. If you do not receive a confirmation by Thursday preceding a meeting, you have NOT been placed on the agenda and should contact the Corporate Officer.
Please Note: Each delegation is permitted a maximum of 10 minutes. Please ensure your presentation accommodates the time allotted.
Public Opportunity to Address Council
Total time allotted: 10 minutes. Each person wishing to speak is asked to keep his or her comments to 2 minutes or less.
NOTE:
1. This time is to afford members of the public the opportunity to address issues directly related to an item on that particular Council agenda.
2. When addressing Council, please provide your name, address, and the number of the agenda item you wish to speak to. Comments should be kept to additional information (not previously provided), for Council’s consideration or clarification.
3. Issues that are not on the current agenda will NOT be heard by Council.
4. If you have items to address that are not contained in this agenda, please contact the Corporate Officer to make a formal request to appear as a delegation at a future meeting of Council.
